Come join us for an exciting 2-Day intensive Oncology (Cancer) Massage course. In this class you will learn about pathologies, risk factors, and treatment options for 6 common types of cancer; current research that supports the benefits of Oncology Massage; contraindications/indications; integrative massage/bodywork modalities; relaxation and visualization techniques; and review intake forms, session plans, and follow-up notes for a customized Oncology Massage session.
You will also examine and dispel issues and uncertainties about cancer for yourself and your clients. Plus, we will discuss how you can become an active member of an oncology care team. This class is the perfect blend of medical and intuitive approaches to Oncology Massage for the patient and the care provider!

Presenter Bio:
Vickie D. Torrey has 40 years of experience as a Counselor and 30 years of experience as a Certified/Licensed Massage Therapist. Vickie is the author of “Joy Bringers—Celebrate the Joy in Each Moment”. She is currently writing a book entitled, “Bringing Joy to the Caregiver”. She received her certificate in Medical Massage for the Cancer Patient from Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York, NY. Vickie teaches Oncology Massage and other Healing Arts nationally and internationally. She is a faculty member of Costa Rica School of Massage Therapy, Samara Beach, Costa Rica, where she teaches Ethics, Communications, Psychology of Touch and Oncology Massage. Join her on one of her Joy Bringers’ Adventure Retreats in exotic places of natural beauty. Vickie lives, writes and plays in Savannah, Georgia and Ilhabela, Brazil.
