Class Description

This course provides hands-on instruction of innovative techniques derived from a wide variety of bodywork traditions – including lymphatic drainage, acupressure, myofascial release, Thai and energetic modalities – for application to the release of blockages in the paranasal sinus cavities.  Embellished with relevant theory, handouts, anatomy and physiology, this seminar adds the ability to offer relief to clients suffering from a vast variety of sinus ailments to the existing skills of practicing bodyworkers and massage therapists.

Presenter Bio:

Sandy Mason has been a massage therapy instructor for over 16 years.  She is currently Clinical Education Coordinator and full-time Instructor at Forsyth Technical Community College in North Carolina, in both the entry-level and Associate Degree Therapeutic Massage Programs. Sandy is a NCBTMB Approved Provider and has presented classes for many AMTA-NC Units over the years, as well as the 2014 AMTA National Convention in Denver. Her passion for elevating educational standards for our profession is evident in her active roles in the AFMTE (Alliance for Massage Therapy Education) where she has helped to develop Teaching Standards for the industry, and currently serves on the Board of Directors as Treasurer. Sandy has most recently become one of the first 9 educators to receive official Teacher Certification status from The Alliance. She has been a textbook reviewer, contributing author and subject matter expert for exam development in the profession, and runs a private practice in Winston-Salem.
