Class Description

Shoulder pain and conditions at the shoulder can be very debilitating. Not only can pain in this area limit the use of the entire arm the limitations can restrict daily activities tremendously. Massage and bodywork with the injured shoulder can not only decrease or eliminate pain, strategic techniques can help balance the joint and achieve results and assist your client achieve healing and resume normal activities.

The participants in the course will be able to demonstrate advanced level of knowledge about the shoulder girdle form, function, indication for massage when presented with various common conditions.

The Therapist will deliver a 60 minute massage that incorporates various techniques customized for the client with compromised shoulder function. The therapist will be well versed in the most common shoulder conditions, indications for massage and techniques to treat those conditions.

Presenter Bio:

Shawnte’ is a graduate of Potomac Massage Training Institute in 2001, has practiced Massage in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Tennessee and currently in Chesapeake, Virginia. A Massage Instructor at a local Massage Therapy program and teaching advanced courses locally for 4 years as an approved provider with NCBTMB. Shawnte’ has run a private mobile massage practice that also includes business consultation, and customer service training, Shawnte’ believes the Elements of Health include educating clients and peers in various forms of bodywork, sharing a passion for human anatomy and love for facilitating healing within the community, and ensuring one’s cup is full through self-care for nourishing others.
