Class Description

This course will give you a solid understanding of how to safely and productively use your body as a tool to deliver deep tissue massage with less effort.  You will practice palpation skills with your fists, forearms and elbows and have more confidence in using these tools regularly in your work setting.

Presenter Bio:

Melissa Cope has been a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist and an AMTA Member since 1999. She has held massage licenses in Connecticut, New York and North Carolina and also practiced in Illinois. Her massage career includes 18 years of private practice, 8 years at the Grove Park Inn Spa and 5 years at Massage Envy.

Melissa has been developing and teaching massage CE courses since 2006. Her courses include Easy Deep Tissue, Getting Specific: Hip & Shoulder Girdles, Massage for TMJ Dysfunction, Light Touch Techniques for Headaches & Migraines and Ethics. At the heart of her teaching is the belief that you can work smarter, not harder and that often less is more. As a vertically challenged person she has perfected ways to use her body wisely to avoid injury and prolong her career and this is what she shares with other therapists in her coursework.
